What a wild ride it was this past week in St. Augustine! Filming was done at night and we attempted sleeping during the day in our assigned housing. My assigned house was gorgeous and filled with men and beds. LMAO Our house named "Transient" had 16 men and me as the only woman. The guys were great, very considerate, and I never once had to put down a toilet seat! What a great group. Joe, our resident artist from Key West, became house cook and made us some great vegetarian chili. He shared his wonderful art with us along with some great stories. The free runners rehearsed every day and it was amazing to watch them in action. Tom, our resident Pirate, rehearsed lines with me for our big scene together. Tom plays "Solon", my brother in the story. Tom knows more pirate jokes than pirates themselves. Just ask him about RRRRRRR's! LOL Brent (one of our hugely hot "guards") became a good friend and helped me run my lines for the big scenes with Justin as "Connall", my son. Brent was a great help since there were 6 re-writes, right up until the day we shot the scenes. Justin and I managed to get in 3 hours of rehearsal once. Justin and I developed a real "mother/son" relationship and will remain friends for a very long time I'm sure. The scenes should turn out well, despite the demands of our eccentric DP who insisted we sit in very unnatural positions and not look at each other while we had intensely dramatic moments. Hopefully his artful shots will make up for the frustration we endured! All in all, the week was a blast and I was sorry to have to come home and leave my "boys" behind. Thanx for the memories everyone!
